If you are expecting an exciting story... skip this one. But anyway, I put air in my tires about 4 days ago when I realized that the rear tire on the passenger side looked a little low. I have never put air in my tires before, so this was a learning experience. I went to the little gas station on the corner of N. Michigan and Shattuck (for all of you who live in Saginaw) because it was the nearest supplier of air. My tire couldn't wait. The maching said, free air for customers. First of all, if you needed the air, wouldn't that make you a customer? According to the sign, who would pay for the air? Anyway, I go inside to tell the cashier that I need air. She says okay and holds down the button on the inside until I make it out the door and around the corner to press an identical button on the air machine. WO! Loud noise... wasn't expecting that. So it takes me a good 30 seconds before I can get the little cap thingy off of my tire, and when I do, I fill it with air until it is noticably fuller. ( I know that's not a word... but I'm using it anyway. I'm such a rebel.) Well, I notice again yesterday, that the same tire is approaching flat status. WTF? I can't afford a new tire.... wait..... this is a new tire. I got it two years ago. And in tire years, that's not a lot. So I took it to the place I got it and told the guy my dilemma. I didn't even have to prove that it was them who put the tire on my car. He simply fixed the tire, and balanced and rotated all the tires. At no cost! Sweet! So, because of this experience, along with some others, I have come to realize that drivers training does not teach you anything. No where in drivers training do they tell you that if you get a flat tire you can go get one for free! And no where in drivers training do they tell you what to do if a cop car is coming towards you in your lane! (Another crazy story for another time.)
